Hosia Jones

Hosia Mae Jones was born on June 19, 1951, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Rev. George Daniel Jones, Sr. and Lucille Jones. She accepted Christ at an early age and lived a life rooted in faith, overflowing with love, and graced with kindness. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she built a legacy of treasured memories that will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her. Hosia Mae found immense joy in life’s simple, beautiful moments, especially when surrounded by her family. Her warmth and boundless love extended far beyond, touching the lives of friends, neighbors, and her cherished church family. Through her heartfelt prayers, unwavering support, and acts of generosity, she formed bonds that will stand the test of time, leaving a profound and lasting impact on everyone blessed to cross her path. Everyone who encountered her couldn’t help but speak of how kind and sweet she was. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rev. George Daniel Jones, Sr., and Lucille Jones. Also, by siblings George Jones, Jr., Theodore Jones, Georgia Jones, Pamala Taylor Jones, and her adored grandson, Keishaun Hilliard. Hosia Mae’s memory lives on through her children: Chantale Hilliard (Warren), Derick Granderson, Sr. (Kensya), Tiffany Lowe, and Brandy Lowe; her grandchildren: Timika Bryant, Sherita Granderson, Derick Granderson, Jr. (Mone’t), Travon Patterson (Octtiana), Brandon Hilliard, Devonte Granderson (Ariana), and Taylor Fields; and her great-grandchildren: Tyler Bryant, Derick Granderson, III, Druex Granderson, Braelyn Patterson, and Keshun Granderson. She is also lovingly remembered by her devoted siblings: Voice Guy, Isaiah Jones, Rev. James Arthur Jones, Sr., Saturian Witherspoon, Keith Jones, Njeri Olufunmilayo, Alga Jones, and Kayette Jones. She is cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many extended family members, and dear friends, each of whom was touched by her enduring presence. Hosia Mae’s life was a beacon of love, faith, and benevolence. Her memory will forever bring comfort, joy, and inspiration to all who carry her in their hearts. Though words cannot fully capture our gratitude for her life or the depth of our loss, we find peace in knowing she now rests in eternal serenity.
