Kevin Rogers

Kevin Laddell “Fat Boy” Rogers was born on March 26, 1984 in Memphis, TN to Sarah Rogers-Moore and the late Larry Rogers. Kevin confessed to Christ at the age of 13 under the late Pastor Ralph White of Bloomfield Full Gospel Baptist Church where his love for music began as he sang in choir. He attended Westwood High School where he gained the love for computers; fixing, rebuilding and building from scratch. After school, Kevin worked at many jobs where he met and gained new friends. He worked at McDonalds, Subway, Methodist North Hospital, Fed Ex and Graceland until his health prohibited him from working. He was a beloved brother to all of his siblings. Although Kevin never had any children, he took on his nieces and nephews as his own. Kevin was known as the life of the party. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He loved pouring into those around him. His presence brought comfort, laughter and strength to all who knew him. Kevin was known to be the “chef” of all events. He never cooked small portions but enough to feed two to three families. Kevin treated everyone he knew as if they were his family. Kevin peacefully departed this life March 10, 2026 at the age of 41 leaving a void that can never be filled. With Kevin’s departure, we remember a life lived with immense love, fun and a constant sense of caring. Kevin was preceded in death by his father Larry Rogers, grandmothers Tissie Stewart and Fairy Rogers, and four uncles Alvin Rogers, Tommie Stewart, Walter Stewart, and Larry Stewart. He leaves behind his mother Sarah Rogers-Moore, three brothers Quentice Taylor (Keiosha) Markenski Martin, Antonio Taylor, and Larry Rogers; three sisters Tangela Johnson (Jerald), Tamara Rogers, and Claudia Gibson; one step mother Flavenia Leaper and one step father Patrick Clark; two aunts Diane Cartwright (Anthony) and Mary Stewart. With a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Kevin touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. His selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us.
