Sharlene Berryhill

Sharlene Berryhill was born on October 21, 1953, to Mr. William H Campbell Sr. and Annie Bell Cheatham-Campbell, in Memphis Tn., both of whom preceded her in death. She was the 10th of 13 children. Sharlene accepted Christ at an early age at Enon Springs Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. She later took her Christian experience to Mt. VernonBaptist Church, Rising Sun Baptist Church, New Philadelphia Baptist Church, Freedom’s Chapel Christian Church, and The First Cathedral of Faith Church. Sharlene was a dedicated member wherever the Lord led her to worship. She lived her life with grace, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her commitment to her church and her community was evident in all she did, and she will be deeply missed as she was that beacon of light to those who had the privilege of knowing her. Sharlene graduated from THE Mitchell High School in 1971, as she would fondly state. She later attended State Technical Institute where she met Rickie Berryhill, the love of her life, her soulmate, and husband for nearly 50 years. Through this union, she became the wonderful mother of 2 son’s, Shaun and Erick Berryhill. Sharlene was a wonderful wife and a dedicated mother to her two sons. Her love and care for her family were boundless, and she always put their needs above her own.Sharlene had a fulfilling career and retired from the United States Postal Service where she worked diligently for over 30 years and made many lifelong friends. Her colleagues remember her as a hardworking and compassionate individual who loved to laugh and always had a smile on her face.She was also a wonderful cook, known for her delicious turnip greens, chicken and dressing, spaghetti (often spicy), 7-layer salad, and sweet potato pie. Her culinary skills brought joy and comfort to many family gatherings and will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting her dishes, then smacking their lips and licking their fingers.Sharlene was a huge Grizzlies fan, as she and Rickie were long time season ticket holders. She loved being in their special seats, even when not feeling her best, cheering on their team. Sharlene had a passion for shopping and loved to wear name-brand clothes, shoes and jewelry. She also had a zest for travel, be it air, land, or sea., but most recently, she enjoyed traveling with family and friends in recreational vehicles, where she affectionately called their RV "The Legacy."Sharlene departed this life peacefully on January 27, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Dorothy Jackson, Flossie Woodard, and Barbara McDonald, 5 brothers; Arthur Rice, Clarence L. Campbell Sr., William Campbell Jr, Christopher Columbus Campbell, and Donald Ray Campbell.She leaves to celebrate her journey; her husband; Rickie, 2 sons; Shaun Berryhill (LaShaun) and Erick Berryhill (Chi-Na), 2 sisters; Mary Lofton, and Sherry Burton (Maurice II), 2 brothers; Rubin Campbell Sr. (Delois), and Robert Lee Campbell, 2 grandchildren; Xavier Berryhill and Madison Berryhill, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Sharlene’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness andgenerosity that will never be forgotten.
