George A. Spencer
September 19, 1953 - January 15, 2022
George Anthony Spencer was born September 19, 1953, to Susie D. Spencer and Andy Hyman who both preceded him in death. George was the youngest of ten children. George accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age. George attended LaRose Elementary School and George Washington Carver High School. After graduating from high school, George went on to serve in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. George had a passion for singing, he spent a lot of time on Beale Street doing just that and always had a good crowd. He also loved telling stories, he could keep you in stitches forever and a day as long as you would listen. He loved his family. George is also preceded in death by two sisters Charlie Mae and Helen Spencer who passed away as infants, sister Delma L. Spencer, brother Thomas Spencer and nephew Lamont Dixon. Also preceded in death are the most recent passing of his brother/best friend Charles E. Spencer, Sr. and his sister Velma L. Williams. George was called home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memories and mourn his passing one brother, Johnny W. Lockhart of San Diego, CA, two sisters, Jefferine Lipsey of Detroit, MI and Carlis J. Dixon of Hampton, GA and one sister-in-law Miltonette Spencer of Memphis TN., six nephews Darryl Lipsey (Tonya), Derrick Lipsey (Debra) of Detroit, MI, Darren Williams of Cordova, TN , Charles E. Spencer, Jr. (Rhonda), Memphis, TN and Christopher Spencer (Lawana) of Moreno Valley, CA, Isiah Spencer of Memphis, TN four nieces Sheila Whiting of Horn Lake, MS, Keisha Humes, Ivana Spencer, and Iesha Spencer of Memphis, TN. He also leaves to cherish his memories, twenty-five great nieces and nephews, ten great-great nieces and nephews and one great- great-great niece and a host of friends and relatives.
