Keith Bryant Sr.

August 21, 1956 - February 2, 2022

Keith Lavell Bryant Sr. was born on August 21, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee, to his loving parents, Oliver Bryant Sr. and Ora Jean Bryant. Keith was one of eight siblings in this close family. Keith accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Greater White Stone Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1974. Following graduation, he enlisted and valiantly served in the United States Army. Keith cherished his military service and often spoke fondly of his time there. Keith had an extensive work history with notable organizations such as the Memphis Defense Depot, Memphis VA Medical Center, Memphis City Schools, FedEx Forum, and most recently, the Garden Court Apartments where he served as building engineer. Keith was loved and admired by all who knew him. Three words clearly describe things that he held dear, Family, Fun, and Friendship. His family never had to wonder how he felt about them because he told them often how much he loved them and cherished their time spent together. He had a special way of making everyone laugh. He would often “break out” with a rendition of a song by his favorite artist, Jeffrey Osborne. Keith departed this life on February 1, 2022, at Methodist Central Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory: one loving son, Keith Lavell Bryant Jr. of Houston, Texas; one grandchild, Dominique Johnson; five siblings, Jeanell Claxton, Diane Redmon (Curley, deceased), Barry Bryant, Sr., Randy Bryant, Sr., and Allicia Cowan (Ed), all of Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and neighbors who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Bryant and Oliver Bryant Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee.
