Louise Long
June 19, 1940 - April 20, 2021
Louise Long, wife and mother of four, lived a life of service to the Lord, her family and the friends around her. She was born in Shaw, Mississippi, to Rosalee and John Durant; she was one of seven children. Louise later moved to California and raised her family, where she worked for the United States Postal Office for approximately forty-five years. She met Leroy Long while working for the post office, and they were married in Reno, Nevada, on May 21, 1994. After living in California for twenty-plus years, they retired to Southaven, Mississippi, to live out their twilight years together. While in Southaven, they served the church and enjoyed a host of other activities. Louise is survived by her loving husband of twenty-seven years, Leroy Long, and four children, Charles Hegwood, Marilynn Caldwell, Comelia Coleman, and Eddie Walker. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Earlene Higgins and Lois Lenior; her brothers, John Durant and Leon Durant; her sister and brother-in-law, Wanda McGill and Joey Long; along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
