Tahaya Damon Hardaway

February 19, 1986 - January 18, 2022

Tahaya Damon Hardaway entered this world on February 19, 1986. He was one of the great gifts given to Amander Hardaway and Vernon Johnson. Tahaya left the world behind for trip to eternity on January 19, 2022. Tahaya, aka "Lou" was born in Memphis, TN. In 1997 he along with his sister Seicha and Mother Amander, moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for a new beginning. This is where Tahaya would grow up, attend school, and eventually become a productive member of society. Tahaya had a strong sense of love for his family and friends. This intense love is what later led Tahaya to start his own family. He loved his two beautiful daughters Serenity and Amirah with a fierceness and tenacity that was unmatched. It said that when the music played, Tahaya was going to sing or dance or maybe do both. It also said that he was good at neither of those two things. Tahaya had absolutely no rythm and couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, but that never stopped him from tellin people he used to be on Soul Train. If you count the soul train lines at the family gatherings, this cold very well be true. Tahaya leaves to cherish him memory, two precious daughters Serenity Hardaway of Hiawatha, Iowa and Amirah Mulengwa of Dallas, Texas. His loving Devoted Mother, Amander Hardaway of Hiawatha, Iowa; His Father, Vernon Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Seicha Hardaway of Hiawatha, Iowa and Angela Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri; one nephew, Karon Hardway-Jones, two nieces, Ka'Mya and Ka'Lia Jones all of Hiawatha, Iowa; and a host of other relatives and friends.
