Melvin Kimble

Melvin Kimble was born in Lexington, Mississippi, on September 6, 1959, to Louis and Claudine B. Kimble Townsend. He departed his life on April 21, 2023, at his home in Memphis, Tennessee. During his early years, he confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended Hopewell Baptist Church of Memphis, Tennessee, and Refuge Temple of Brownsville, Tennessee. Melvin attended Manassas High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He later became a Truck Driver, where he traveled across the U.S. Melvin was a man who had many different skill sets, which allowed him to help so many people in need. He started his own business, “Kimble’s Unloading Service”, which provided opportunities for multiple members in the family to be a part of. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, and provider for his family. Hard-working, disciplined, outgoing, strong, loving and caring are just some of the words that will come to mind when thinking about Melvin. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Mary Kimble, of thirty years (thirty-seven years total); two children, Veronica (Martavius) Moore and Robert (Ashley) Brown; five grandchildren, Sheterica Crockett (Tookie), Sydney Garret (Pooh), Robert Brown Jr. (Doody), Kylor Brown and Amyah Brown; two great-grandchildren, Jakobi Watson and Heaven Verge; his mother, Claudine K. Townsend; two brothers, Herman (Jeanette) Kimble and Albert (Pamela D.); three sisters, Dorothy Kimble, Carmen Kimble, and Angela (Terry) Redden; brothers and sisters-in-law, Helen Young, Emma (Daryl) Anderson and Almazeen (Andrew) Viverette of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives, loved ones and friends. Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Louis Kimble; two brothers, Louis Kimble Jr., and Michael Kimble; mother-in-law, Ivezeen Cowan (Big Moma); brothers and sisters-in-law, Autrey Jackson Jr., Samuel Jackson, John Lee Young, Anthony Cradler, Jeanetta Cradler, Jaquelyn Booker, and Shirley Jackson; three nephews, Carlton Terrence Stewart Jr., Albert Kimble (Doom), and Darrell Aldridge Jr. (Scootie); and his niece, Tinika Cradler-Boyce.
