Pamela R. Lackland-Boyland

Memphis, Tennessee. To her parents, the late John R. and Lettie Lackland, she was their first shining star, of their 4 children to this union. Being the eldest, Pam made it a point to always be a trendsetter and role model to her brothers, Darrell and Michael, whom both preceded her in death and protector to her only surviving sibling, her beautiful little sister, Charlotte. Pam was raised in a loving Christian family, coming to know Jesus at an early age. She had and remembered many discussions about the Lord with her grandmother Lettie Holland. Educated in the Memphis City School Legacy, she attended Levi Elementary, Lanier Jr. High School and a Westwood High School Graduate Class of 1978 . Pam realized that she could sing, so she shared her angelic voice by becoming a member of the Longhorn High Musical Choir. Also during her time at Westwood, she found her love for doing hair and makeup in Cosmetology classes. She stated that she wanted to be different that’s when her unique style with her hair, makeup and dress began which lasted her a lifetime. She was beautiful no matter what her style was because of her infectious smile. Pam had a vibrant personality, full of life, energy and enthusiasm. Her unconditional love for her family was made aware to each member especially children and grandchildren. Her motherly love was very strong, she would always say “I love you”, give a big hug and kiss. She never met a stranger. She could hold a conversation for hours while smiling the entire time. She loved cooking big meals and sharing it with everyone in her neighborhood. She has shared her home with anyone in need; her door was always open and unlocked. She had a big giving heart and truly a people person. Pam met and fell in love with Robert Boyland with her oldest child Marco J. Lackland and his daughter Katisha. They became the proud parents of Shanae Renee and Robert Lee, Jr. This union became a loving Blended Family. Pam worked at the Peabody Hotel for many years in the culinary department while helping family and friends get employment their also. Later, she moved on to the airport becoming the head baker for Perkins Bakery & Restaurant, advanced to managing Mrs. Fields Cookies. After relocating in Las Vegas her health began to decline. Planning a cruise with her best girlfriend, Zelda, she went to Lexington, Kentucky. Little did anyone know, God had the Ultimate Premier Cruise planned for her on May 29, 2023. He gave Pam peace and a new body. No more worries, pain, or heartache. I know she’s with the Lord smiling in Heaven with her love ones that preceded her death: John R. and Lettie Mae Lackland(Parents) ,Michael J. and Darrell Lackland (Brothers), Willie R. & Lettie Holland, Daniel and Easter Lackland (Grandparents ),Marco Jonathan(Grandson) Uncles William L. Holland, Paul A. Holland, Sr. and Cousin Robert C. Madden. Knowing Pam she’s watching over all her love ones and friends here on earth , saying I’m alright, everything is cool, get right with Jesus , join a church and get your life straight, don’t forget your insurance. Pamela Renee leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: her husband Robert Sr., her beloved sons Marco Johnathan and Robert Lee of Las Vegas, NV and her heartbeats, her beautiful daughters Shanae Renee, Las Vegas,NV , Katisha (Jerald)Bailey, Memphis,TN; Daughter in law Shannon Rice, Southaven, MS; Grandchildren: Madison Shalise, Jacob, Robert Lee, Jr., Jermesheia Lashea’, Jermiah J’nae, Jermey Cortez, Lailani Renee, Marcus James, Maliah Christiana, Malaysia Lee: Great Grandson Marco Johnathan, Jr.; Sisters: Charlotte Lackland, Rhonda Clark, Denise Goodman Memphis,TN.; Brothers Dennis Clark and Trey Gibbs Memphis, TN; Sister-in-laws Belinda Lackland, Robyn Gray, Memphis, Tn.: Aunts: Pearline Madden, Velma H.
