Vince E. Johnson

Vince Edward Johnson was born on November 6, 1965 in Memphis, Tennessee. Vince, the beloved, cherished and adored son of Mrs. Ethel Johnson Dumas, was a light whose flame ended on July 16, 2023 at his home in Douglasville, Georgia. Vince accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and had the privilege of being baptized by his grandfather Reverend Booker T. Dumas, Pastor of Mount Paran Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Until his transition, Vince was an active member of New Life Community Church located in Memphis, Tennessee. Vince was a graduate of Whitehaven High School in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was a member of the renowned Tiger Marching Band, served in the Student Government Association, and participated in the ROTC program. ROTC served as a key stepping stone, preparing Vince for college at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and serving his country as an Army Ranger. Vince, the first-born son, was supportive and always protective of his mother and followed directly in her footsteps with his love for helping and serving others. With his mother's blessing, Vince successfully opened a Johnson-Dumas Tax Services location in Lithia Springs, Georgia. In addition to the tax services business, Vince assisted his younger brother George “JR” Dumas, Jr. by serving as Finance Manager for ASAP Auto Brokers of Georgia. As a thriving businessman, Vince developed a love for fine foods, traveling, fishing, and chess. A few places Vince loved to visit were Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, but his greatest joys were his two daughters, Bridney and Brandy. Vince is preceded in death by a sister, Shuvonne Addie Dumas, a brother, Percy Alexander (Teresa), and his father, George Dumas, Sr. Vince is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ethel Johnson Dumas, his two daughters, Bridney D. Johnson of Villa Rica, Georgia and Brandy D. Johnson (fiancé of Jeremy Harris), of Memphis, Tennessee, younger brother, George “JR” Dumas, Jr., sisters, Patricia Dumas Johnson Pasadena, California, Rita Dumas Snelling of Memphis, and Georgia Dumas Whiting Fayetteville, Georgia, his grandchildren, Clarence D. White, Dereyon D. Brown, Taliyah D. Brown, Ethan J. Baity, and Erin A. Harris, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins, and friends.
